LET’S CHANGE THAT
NOTE: Kids hear and see everything that you do and say. They learn their culture not only from media, but also from the people closest to them. How you react, what you believe and often from what you don’t say as much as what you do say.
If you want your daughter (nieces, students, friends) to look at her body and feel gratitude, acceptance, love and more then you must model this behaviour yourself. We are the best teachers when we walk the talk.
When was the last time you looked in the mirror and really said thank you, I love you to your body? If it wasn’t today, go do it now. Wierd? Maybe, but if you can’t tell yourself, who are you waiting for?
Our beliefs about our bodies are formed not only because of mass media, but also our inner self talk reinforcing negative opinions about ourselves. If you want to look great in your summer swag, it starts with your ideas about yourself.
