A bit about me:
I am in my last year of my Music Therapy degree at Capilano University!
What is your power word?
ACTION! There is nothing to motivate you more than to simply MOVE towards what you want, and make a start.
How did you start running?
My dad tried to get me into trail running when I was younger – it took until after high school for me to catch on! Moving to North Vancouver from Ontario definitely helped, too.
My happy pace is really energizing. I listen to my body, and when I want to slow down, I take my speed down, but don’t stop. When I can, I see if I can find a burst of energy, and pick up the pace a bit!
What is one of your current goals? How do you plan to achieve it?
After completing my 2nd half marathon in the spring and facing some foot troubles afterwards, my new goal is to switch over to trail running and racing. Easier on my precious feet, and right in my own North Shore backyard! Starting in the trails nearest to home, I’m going to slowly start to explore different trail systems and increase my distance – and invite friends to come along!
When do you feel most beautiful?
In two instances – when I’m hiking in nature, and when I’m making music.
How has being involved with Sole Girls changed your life?
Sole Girls has become a family for me of life-minded game changers that love life, are becoming their absolute best selves, and are out in the community. Personally, coaching with Sole Girls reminds me that I am awesome and that I am in control of how I feel about myself and of my place in the world.
You rock Olivia!!
